Built around your business

WordPress development around the way you work.

WordPress can support a simple service website or something with more moving parts. The important question is what your business needs it to do. I translate those needs into page layouts, features and an editing approach that make sense together.

I can help with a new build, improvements to an existing website or a focused piece of development. That might mean creating better service templates, connecting a form, improving mobile layouts or investigating a feature that has stopped behaving as expected.

You deal directly with me, a West Midlands freelancer supporting businesses across the UK. We agree the priorities and the work before changes are made.

How I can help

The right functionality.
Without unnecessary complexity.

A focused build is easier to understand and maintain. I review the existing setup and recommend a practical route for the specific job.

01

WordPress website builds

I bring page structure, responsive layouts and editable content together. Builds can use appropriate themes, blocks or Elementor, depending on the design and your editing needs.

02

Layouts & reusable templates

Service pages, landing pages, articles and project layouts can share a consistent structure. Reusable sections help keep new content aligned with the rest of the site.

03

Forms & integrations

Enquiry forms, email tools, booking services and other connections can be set up where suitable. We check the workflow and identify any paid service or account requirements.

04

Plugin & feature work

I assess suitable plugins and configuration options before adding complexity. Custom changes are scoped around the requirement and the compatibility of your existing site.

05

Troubleshooting & performance

I investigate layout faults, plugin conflicts and slow or unreliable journeys. Findings guide the work; hosting limitations or third-party issues are explained where they affect the outcome.

06

Migrations & launch checks

Where a move is needed, we plan files, content, backups, addresses and redirects. Staging, form checks and a launch checklist help reduce avoidable disruption.

A practical approach

Built for the editor
as well as the visitor.

A website should not become a puzzle every time you need to change a sentence. I consider the editing experience alongside the front end, so regular tasks have a consistent approach.

For an existing WordPress site, I start by understanding its theme, plugins, hosting and important features. That helps identify what can be improved safely and whether a change needs testing away from the live site.

I can also discuss WooCommerce if the website needs an online shop. Larger e-commerce requirements are planned through my e-commerce service so product, payment and order workflows get proper attention.

Working together

A clear process.
From the first email.

We agree the work and keep the next step clear. No technical brief is needed to start the conversation.

01

Review & define

Share the website and the requirement. I review the setup and agree what a successful result should look like.

02

Plan the approach

We identify the best route, dependencies and costs. Access, backups and a suitable testing approach are agreed.

03

Develop & test

I build or configure the agreed solution and check the relevant page layouts, functionality and user journeys.

04

Release & explain

We plan the release, check the live result and cover how to use or manage the new functionality.

Before we begin

Clear development.
Clear responsibilities.

The proposal identifies the features, supported setup, testing and handover. Plugin licences, hosting and third-party subscriptions are discussed separately where applicable. Website maintenance, emergency cover and future development are agreed services rather than assumed inclusions.

A useful first email

Email your website address, the change you want and any error message or example you can share. Please do not send passwords in an enquiry; we can agree a suitable access method when needed.

Have a different question? Tell me what you need help with and I’ll point you towards the next step.

Ask me a question
Can you work on a WordPress website someone else built?

Yes, subject to reviewing the setup and available access. I look at the theme, plugins and existing customisations first, then explain what the work involves and any limitations.

Do you work with Elementor?

Yes. I can help with Elementor layouts and content as well as other WordPress editing approaches. I consider what is already in place and what will be practical for you to manage.

Can you fix a slow or broken website?

I can investigate and recommend a route forward. The cause may involve a plugin, theme, hosting, large media or another service. I explain the findings before promising a particular fix or performance result.

Will you update everything on my live site?

Changes are planned around the job. For work that could affect important functionality, we agree backups and testing first. An update is checked against the pages or features it may affect.

Who owns the accounts and licences?

We agree this at the outset. Your business should retain access to its website and key accounts. Third-party software has its own licence terms and renewal costs, which are identified where relevant.

Can you provide support afterwards?

Yes. Content changes, further improvements and ongoing website support can be scoped separately. We agree the tasks, availability and any recurring work rather than assuming a maintenance package.
